“Together amongst Friends” was the motto of our summer party this year. Together with Rodenberg Door Systems AG, we held a joint celebration at the company’s headquarters in Porta Westfalica. All the planning and organisation was in the hands of the trainees.
Great weather, good food and a programme for young and old – the summer party on 18 June 2023 was a complete success for us and the employees of Rodenberg Door Systems AG. 14 trainees from both companies were responsible for the planning and implementation. In addition to the creative design of the entire party, it was a matter of comparing suppliers, logistical organisation, time coordination and support during set-up and dismantling – a great deal of responsibility for the young junior staff.“This was a great project for all of us. We are proud of the fact that everything worked out the way we had envisioned it,” Heinrich Bredemeier reported, our trainee in wholesale and foreign trade management, on behalf of the trainee organisation team.
“It was a really great time in which we were able to gain valuable and important experience and put the motto ‘Together amongst Friends’ into practice,” Mette Nahrwold added, an industrial clerk apprentice at Rodenburg Door Systems AG.
There was plenty on offer for all the guests: In addition to catering and beverages, there was a raffle, the proceeds of which amounting to € 3,600 were donated to the Minden-Lübbecke Children and Youth Hospice Service, live music, a rollover simulator of the Traffic Safety Association Kreis Minden-Lübbecke, a stand hosted by the national handball league team GWD Minden – with the opportunity to meet some of the players in person – as well as face painting for the little ones and money other attractions.
More than 1,200 employees and their families celebrated together. Refugees from Ukraine, who are housed in the former Porta School in Porta Westfalica, were also invited to the get-together. “It is important to us that we support the people in this difficult situation and give them a few untroubled hours,” said the management of Rodenberg Door Systems AG and the Brüder Schlau Group.
